Lecomte Named to U20 All-Tournament Team
Miami Hurricane Manu Lecomte was named to U20 Men Division B 2014 All-Tournament Team after leading Belgium to the championship game of the FIBA U20 European Championships, Division B, held in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina.
The Canes sophomore averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.1 steals in 30.4 minutes per game in the tournament. In his eight games, he averaged 47.1 percent from the field, including 53.8 percent from 2-point range, and was 79.5 percent at the line. He ranked second in the tournament in points per game, fourth in field goals made and free throw percentage and seventh in free throws made. He posted a 34-point night against Belarus, also recording four assists, three steals and three rebounds in the 21-point win. Against Cyprus, Lecomte hit 11-of-13 from the line. He drained four shots from long distance in two outings and had six or more rebounds in four games.
Lecomte has been part of Belgium’s national team program for most of the past decade. He was a member of the U16 team for two years, the U18 team for two years and is in his second year with the U20 squad. With the appearance in the title game, the Belgian team will move from Division B to the top league, Division A.

The U20 European Championships for Division B is a 14-team tournament that is held in Sarajevo, Bosnia from July 10-20. Belgium was one of seven teams in Group A, joined by Luxembourg, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Poland and Estonia.
As a freshman in 2013-14, Lecomte was an exciting player for the Hurricanes. He was third on the team with 7.7 ppg and ranked second in assists (77) and third in steals (21), while playing in all 32 games and making 16 starts.
