Football Picked to Win ACC Coastal Division

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Miami Hurricanes football team was picked to win the ACC Coastal Division title in 2014, according to a poll of media members in attendance at the 2014 ACC Football Kickoff at Grandover Resort.

The Hurricanes’ 614 total points, including 26 first-place votes, were the most of any Coastal Division team. Defending division champion Duke received 33 first-place votes and finished with 597 points, followed by Virginia Tech with 571 points and 23 first-place votes.

Florida State was picked as the likely overall ACC winner on 104 of 112 ballots cast. The Seminoles were picked to finish atop the Atlantic Division by 109 voters and amassed 780 total points. Clemson received the remaining three-first-place votes and placed second in the Atlantic with 660.

Junior running back Duke Johnson, a player to watch for both the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award and Doak Walker Award (top running back) earned one vote for 2014 ACC Player of the Year.
