#ProCanes Report: Kadji Scores Double Digits
Kenny Kadji stood out throughout the month of February for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He scored 19 and 20 points in two of his team’s last four contests. He has compiled double digit scoring totals in four of the last six games.
NBA
James Jones – Miami Heat – The 3-point shooting swingman has been inactive recently as the Heat push to the top seed in the Eastern Conference. For the season, he is shooting 55 percent from downtown. The Heat led the entire NBA with a 9-1 record during the month of February.
Shane Larkin – Dallas Mavericks / Texas Legends – Larkin has played in two-thirds of the games for the NBA’s Mavericks, as they fight to maintain their a spot amongst the top eight teams in the Western Conference. Larkin has also seen time playing for the Texas Legends in the NBA’s Developmental League. He most recently played 39 minutes on the first day of March against the Los Angeles D-Fenders. In this performance, he totaled 22 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.
John Salmons – Toronto Raptors – Salmons has averaged 21.4 minutes per game for the Atlantic Division leading Raptors, who have won seven of their last 10 games. Salmons is consistently one of the first options off the bench for Toronto, providing a veteran presence to a young team. He averaged 3.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per game throughout 13 games in February.
D-League
Will Frisby – Fort Wayne Mad Ants – Frisby is enjoying one of his most successful stretches lately, helping carry the Mad Ants to three wins in their last four contests, while maintaining an average of 15.5 points and four assists in his last two performances. He has averaged five rebounds per game since the first of February.
Robert Hite – Canton Charge – Hite is equating 23 minutes per game for the Charge, and has contributed to the success that has pushed them to second in the East Division. Hite has not appeared in a game since Feb. 11, as he is away from the team for personal reasons.
Lance Hurdle – Springfield Armor – While Hurdle is listed on the Armor’s roster, he has not played in a game the last three weeks. He has contributed in 25 games this season and averaging 15.2 minutes per game.
Kenny Kadji – Rio Grande Valley Vipers – Kadji has stood out recently for the Central Division leading Vipers, scoring 19 and 20 points in two of his team’s last four contests. Averaging 16.8 minutes a game off the bench for Rio Grande Valley, he also has totaled 3.9 rebounds per game.
Trey McKinney Jones – McKinney Jones totaled 19 points in a win over the Iowa Energy that saw him play 41 minutes. As a rookie, he has established himself as a mainstay on a team moving forward into championship contention. McKinney Jones has led the Mad Ants in minutes this season with 34.6 minutes per contest as they sit atop the East Division.
Overseas
Brian Asbury – Hapoel Holon (Israel) – Over the past two weeks, Asbury has averaged 10.0 points for Hapoel Holon. He was recently featured in 26 minutes of gametime in a victory over Bnei Hertzeliyya. Asbury starts for Holon, as they fight for a spot in the top half of the Israel-Winner League.
Julian Gamble – St. Vallier Basket Drome (France) – In his past three games, Julian Gamble has been a force for St. Vallier, averaging 15.7 points a contest. As the starting center, Gamble leads the team in both points (16.8) and rebounds (8.7) this season.
Malcolm Grant – LF Basket Norrbotten (Sweden) – After opening the year strong with double figure point totals in his first four games for the Halifax Rainmen (Canada), Grant signed with LF Basket at the end of January. He has yet to play a game with his new team.
Anthony King – Artland Dragons (Germany) – King is on the money, shooting an impressive 64 percent from the field over the past three games. King starts at power forward and averages the third most points (12.1) and the most rebounds (6.5) on the team, per game.
Durand Scott – Rio Natura Monbus Obradoiro CAB (Spain) – Scott has averaged 11.5 minutes per game over his team’s last two games, and both of them resulted in wins. Scott has appeared in 20 games this season, shooting 47.0 percent from the field.
Adrian Thomas – Shimane Susanoo Magic (Japan) – As the starting small forward for the Magic, Thomas has racked up more minutes over the past two games, averaging 38.5 minutes. In the two game span, he averaged 15.5 points per game. He has maintained a steady 10.2 points per game average this season.
