Kirk on All-ACC Academic Basketball Team
GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Miami forward Donnavan Kirk joins 16 student-athletes from across the league on the 2014 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men’s Basketball team, as announced today by Commissioner John Swofford.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
Kirk is a graduate student at UM, seeking his master’s degree in community and social change. The native of Pontiac, Mich., earned his undergrad degree at DePaul, a bachelor’s in marketing with an emphasis in sales leadership, before returning to Miami for his final season of eligibility.
The 6-foot-9-inch forward is averaging 8.0 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game this season for the Hurricanes. He has posted a pair of double-doubles and has multiple blocks in 13 outings.
