Rincon and Soto Visit Doral Academy

University of Miami men’s tennis coach Mario Rincon and senior Diego Soto visited Doral Academy Charter School Friday afternoon as part of the Uniendo La Familia community outreach program.

The pair spoke with the students in both English and Spanish, encouraging the youth to perform well academically, and inform them that by being physically active, the students will become healthier young men and women.

Soto also shared his story about how he used athletics to open doors to help him come to the United States and attend college.

Following the indoor session, some of the students to hit tennis balls back and forth with Miami’s mascot, Sebastian the Ibis.

Sebastian also handed out Miami football, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball and soccer team posters and schedule cards.
