Dorsett Returns: Canes Release UVA Depth
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami head coach Al Golden released his team’s latest depth chart Sunday night. Miami (7-3, 3-3 ACC) concludes its home schedule Saturday against Virginia (2-8, 0-6 ACC) for Senior Day. Kickoff is set for noon ET on ESPNU.
Junior WR Phillip Dorsett returns to the depth chart at the Hurricanes’ second wideout position, sharing No. 1 duties with Stacy Coley and Herb Waters. Dorsett was injured in Miami’s 27-23 road win Oct. 17 at North Carolina.
On the defensive side, several shifts have been made. Senior Justin Renfrow, junior Olsen Pierre and redshirt senior Luther Robinson are all vying for the starting defensive tackle position alongside senior Curtis Porter.
Junior Thurston Armbrister and sophomore Tyriq McCord are listed as co-starters as left outside linebacker. Senior Tyrone Cornileus is listed as Denzel Perryman‘s backup at right outside linebacker.
In the secondary, sophomore Deon Bush is now the starter at safety. Sophomore Rayshawn Jenkins and junior Kacy Rodgers II are co-starters at the other safety spot. Freshman Jamal Carter is listed as the backup to Jenkins and Rodgers II.
Saturday’s game will also kick off its “Uniendo La Familia” (Uniting the Family) campaign. During the celebration of the Hurricanes’ last home game, the Hurricanes will show their appreciation of the diversity within the South Florida community with an on-site concert featuring radio host celebrity, DJ Laz, and popular artist, Maffio, along with pre-game activities appropriate for all ages. The event will give attendees the opportunity to partake in a variety of family-fun activities, including an Instagram booth and photo opportunities.
