@HurricanesGolf No. 33 in Golfstat Rankings
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – After back-to-back top-3 finishes to close its fall schedule, the Miami Hurricanes women’s golf team is No. 33 in the latest Golfstat rankings.
Miami, which opened the season with a seventh-place finish at the Mary Fossum Invitational in Septemeber, rattled off second- and third-place finishes in consecutive trips to Texas. The Canes finished second at the Challenge at Onion Creek, shooting 31-over 871.
Two weeks later, the Hurricanes finished third at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, where it shattered the program record for 18-, 36- and 54-hole scores.
In three tournaments, Miami’s lineup was dominated by two returners – Leticia Ras-Anderica and Rika Park – and three newcomers. Ras-Anderica leads the Canes with a 73.89 scoring average through nine rounds and a pair of top-25 finishes. Newcomers Delfina Acosta and Daniela Darquea are tied for second on the team with a 74.00 scoring average.
Miami opens its spring season with four consecutive tournaments in Florida, beginning Jan. 27 at the Florida Challenge in Lecanto. The Hurricanes will host the Hurricane Invitational in March.
