Jay, Cardinals Begin World Series Quest
BOSTON – Outfielder Jon Jay and the St. Louis Cardinals begin their chase for the 12th World Series title in franchise history tonight in Game One of the Fall Classic at Fenway Park.
Just one season after Canes greats Pat Burrell and Aubrey Huff won the World Series with the San Francisco Giants in 2010, Jay won his first league championship with the Cardinals and earned a spot on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Now in his fourth season in the majors, the former All-American batted .276 in 2013, hitting seven homeruns and registering a career-high 67 RBI for the National League champions.
