Four Named Phil Steele Midseason All-ACC
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Sophomore dual-threat Duke Johnson was one of four Miami Hurricanes named to Phil Steele‘s Midseason All-ACC Teams released Thursday. Johnson was also named to a fourth-team All-American as an all-purpose runner.
Johnson was both a first-team selection at running back and kick returner. Senior Brandon Linder was named a first-teamer at offensive guard. Johnson leads the Canes with 572 rushing yards and 954 all-purpose yards. Linder has started 29 straight games along the offensive line and has helped anchor Miami’s offense that is averaging 488.6 yards 45.2 points through five games.
Junior LB Denzel Perryman was Miami’s lone second-team selection, while junior DE Anthony Chickillo racked up third-team honors. Perryman leads Miami with 34 tackles; Chickillo has 18 tackles, 2.0 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss.
