Women's Golf Closes Fall at Betsy Rawls
AUSTIN, Texas – The Miami Hurricanes women’s golf team concludes its fall season Oct. 13-15 at the 40th Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, hosted by the University of Texas.
The Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational will be played on the par-72, 6,143-yard course at The University of Texas Golf Club. The Betsy Rawls field features 18 teams, including 14 that ranked in Golfstat Top 60 and five ranked in the Top 30. Four teams are ranked in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings Top 20 – UCLA (1), Arizona State (8), Iowa State (15) and Tulane (18).
Live scoring for all three rounds will be available online at www.birdiefire.com. Monday’s second round is Breast Cancer Awareness Day. Teams are fans are encouraged to wear pink.
For the third consecutive tournament, Miami’s lineup will feature juniors Leticia Ras-Anderica and Rika Park, sophomore Kailey Walsh and freshmen Delfina Acosta and Daniela Darquea. Through six fall rounds, Ras-Anderica is pacing the Hurricanes with a 73.83 scoring average and two top-25 finishes. Acosta and Darquea are tied for the second-lowest scoring average at 75.00.
Miami’s third and final fall tournament is its second consecutive competition in Austin. Earlier this month, the Hurricanes finished second out of 11 teams at the Challenge at Onion Creek. Ras-Anderica finished fifth at 5-over 215, while Acosta tied for seventh overall at 8-over 218.
