The 2013-14 campaign marks Jim Larrañaga’s 30th season as a collegiate head basketball coach.

Miami basketball rewrote the record books during the 2012-13 season, winning a school record 29 games.

Since 2006, 28-of-28 of Coach Larrañaga’s players have graduated college.

Miami’s 27-point victory over No. 1 Duke in 2013 was the highest ranked opponent the Hurricanes have ever defeated.

In 1926, the University of Miami basketball program was created.

Elton Tyler is the only player in Miami basketball history to compete in four NCAA Tournaments.

Rick Barry holds Miami’s season scoring record, averaging 37.4 points in 1964-65.

The BankUnited Center has seen 23 crowds of at least 7,000 fans, including five sellouts in 2013.

Rion Brown set a career-high mark for points in 2013, scoring 22 against both Georgia Tech and Boston College.

Darius Rice, a four-year standout at the U, currently sits fourth on the Hurricanes all-time scoring list.

In 2011, Reggie Johnson set the Miami Hurricanes NIT Tournament rebound record with 20 against Florida Atlantic.

Miami has had 19 players drafted since the NBA draft’s inception in 1947. 

Following the 2012-13 campaign, Shane Larkin was selected 18 overall by the Atlanta Hawks and subsequently traded to the Dallas Mavericks.

Malcolm Grant holds the Canes’ ACC Tournament record for 3-pointers made during his career with 17.

The 2012-13 season marked the second time in program history that Miami has gone to the Sweet 16.

Since the 2004-05 season, Miami has had 15 players on All-ACC teams.

In 1993, Michael Gardner set the Miami record for assists in a game with 14.

Dick Hickox, a 1960 second-team All-American, finished his Miami hoops career with a 19.4 points per game average, good for third all-time at UM.

In 2008, Jack McClinton set the Miami record for field goals in an NCAA Tournament game, hitting 12 against Saint Mary’s.

The 2013-14 Hurricanes will feature 11 players who were not on Coach Larrañaga’s inaugural team. 

Miami opens its 10th full season in their home arena, the BankUnited Center, in 2013-14. 

The 2013-14 season will mark Miami’s 9th season in the ACC.

In four years at Miami, Durand Scott scored 1,650 points, earning the No. 8 spot on Miami’s all-time scoring list.

Since the 2004-05 season, the Hurricanes have had 7 players named to the ACC All-Academic team.

The Hurricanes have won 6 NCAA Tournament games, including two during the 2012-13 season on their way to the Sweet 16.
