Hurricane Club Surpasses 2012 Membership
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Behind its award-winning #BuildingChampions campaign, the University of Miami’s Hurricane Club has surpassed its 2012 membership total, eclipsing more than 5,600 active members.
The Hurricane Club is on pace to reach over 6,000 active Hurricane Club members in 2013, which will set an all-time record for UM Athletic annual support. The Hurricane Club has also added 1,500 new members for the 2013 calendar year.
“The continued growth and success of our athletics program is directly related to the resources provided to our student-athletes and coaches in their efforts to achieve excellence,” Miami AD Blake James said. “For the Hurricane Club to surpass last year’s totals and continue toward 6,000 active members is a tribute to every member of the Hurricanes Family. Together we are Building Champions!”
After record-setting new membership numbers so far this year, the Hurricane Club is well on target to hit the 3 year goal of 7,500 active members by 2015.
“We want to continue to grow our membership base,” said Jesse Marks, Associate AD for Development. “The Hurricane Club’s expansion both locally and nationally in scope is a testament to the tremendous work done by our current Hurricane Club members and our staff.”
