#BuildingChampions Tour Concludes in NYC

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The 2013 Hurricane Club #BuildingChampions Spring Tour concludes Thursday with its final stop in New York City. Head football coach Al Golden and US Olympic track coach Amy Deem will be in attendance.

The May 16 event in New York City will be held at Brother Jimmy’s on Lexington Avenue. Hors d’oeuvres will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a reception at 7:30 p.m. Pre-RSVP Hurricane Club members are $40, while non-HC members are $50. Day-of entry will be $60.

New York City is the final of six Spring Tour stops. The #BuildingChampions tour began April 6 with the Southwest Florida Golf Classic in Naples, a day after the Hurricanes’ spring scrimmage at Naples High School. The second tour stop took Coach Golden and crew to Boca Raton for an April 26 luncheon.

Tampa (May 8), Orlando (May 9) and Jacksonville (May 10) were the last three #BuildingChampions Spring Tour stops. Golden was joined in Tampa by National Coach of the Year Jim Larrañaga and women’s basketball head coach Katie Meier.

Chicago will be the site of an additional national fundraising event. The University of Miami Alumni Club of Chicago, UM Alumni Association and Hurricane Club will host the annual Chicago Coaches Dinner on Thursday, May 23 at the Westin River North in Chicago.

Space for the May 23 dinner is limited. Guests can register online, by phone at 866-UMALUMS (862-5867), by email at alumni@miami.edu or by submitting the registration form via fax. For guests interested in donating to the silent auction, click here.
