W. Tennis a No. 4 Seed at ACC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team, ranked 10th nationally, earned the No. 4 seed in the ACC Championship, held at the Cary Tennis Park April 25-28 in Cary, N.C.

The No. 4 seed earns the Hurricanes (17-5, 8-3 ACC) a bye in the first round and a quarterfinal matchup with the winner of Thursday’s clash between No. 5 seed Georgia Tech and No. 12 seed Maryland.

Earlier this season, Miami faced both the Yellow Jackets and Terrapins and were victorious each time. The Canes met each on the road. On March 9, UM traveled to Atlanta and came away with a 6-1 victory. Nearly a month later, on April 5, the Hurricanes shutout Maryland, 7-0.

No matter the opponent, Miami’s match is scheduled to start Friday at noon.

The other teams earning a Top 4 seed and a first round bye are top-seeded North Carolina, No. 2 Clemson and No. 3 Virginia.
