Scott to Play in Senior All-Star Game in ATL
ATLANTA – Miami guard Durand Scott is one of 22 seniors selected by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) to play in the 2013 Reese’s®Division I College All-Star game.
Scott, who is a member of the West All-Star roster, will take the floor on Friday, April 5, at 5 p.m. (EDT), at the Georgia Dome, the site of this week’s championship games as the NCAA celebrates 75 years of March Madness®. The teams are composed of 11 senior student-athletes from NCAA Division I programs across America.
The Bronx, N.Y., native was a standout for the Hurricanes during their record-setting season. Scott, who was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, averaged 13.1 ppg for the Canes, while grabbing 4.0 rebounds a game, dishing out 86 assists and collecting 51 steals over 33 games. The senior leader helped Miami win the ACC regular season championship and the ACC tournament on their way to a berth in the Sweet 16 in this year’s NCAA tournament.
The Reese’s All-Star game will feature a pair of outstanding coaches who played in the 1995 All-Star game. Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg will coach the West All-Stars and Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin will coach the East All-Stars.
