Rowing to Compete at Cardinal Invitational
OAKRIDGE, Tenn. — The University of Miami women’s rowing team will compete March 16-17 at the Cardinal Invitational, hosted by the University of Louisville. This is the team’s first year appearing at this event and it stands as the Canes’ first official regatta of the spring season.
“We’re really looking forward to the racing this weekend,” head coach Andrew Carter said. “Louisville staged this regatta for the first time last year and the feedback was outstanding. Racing on the Oak Ridge course against quality opponents this early in the season is a great way to open our official racing calendar.”
The Canes will square off in three separate rounds of racing over two days. The First Varsity 8+, Second Varsity 8+, Varsity 4+ and Novice 8+ will face stiff competition in each round, including crews from the Big 12 and future ACC rivals Notre Dame and Louisville.
“After some good information gained in our scrimmage with Michigan, it’s obvious that our crews are motivated and excited to get to the start line,” Carter said.
