Ed Reed to Appear at Kenny G Gold Pro-Am
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. Former Miami Hurricanes standout and Super Bowl champion safety Ed Reed will join Hall of Fame golfer Raymond Floyd, TV personality Ahmad Rashad and Kenny G at the Kenny G Gold Pro-Am presented by Tire Kingdom. The one-day event will be held Wed., Feb. 27 at Palm Beach Gardens’ PGA National Resort & Spa.
The foursome of Reed, Floyd, Rashad and Kenny G will tee off at 12:30 p.m. on the No. 1 tee of the Champion Course at PGA National Resort & Spa.
Tickets for Wednesday’s Pro Am are $30 in advance ($40 at the gate) and can be purchased in advance at www.thehondaclassic.com or by calling 1-866-846-6328. Kids under the age of 15 are admitted free every day at The Honda Classic.
Reed was selected No. 24 overall by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2002 NFL Draft and was a member of the Ravens’ Super Bowl XLVII championship team. The New Orleans native has been selected to nine Pro Bowls and was the 2004 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. He also holds the NFL record for the two longest interception returns in NFL history – 106 yards in 2004 and 108 yards in 2008. He owns the NFL record for interception return yards with 1,506.
The 2013 edition of The Honda Classic will be played Feb. 25-March 3 at PGA National Resort & Spa. The tournament, Palm Beach County’s largest sporting event, awarded $1.85 million to area children’s charities in 2012.
