Green Team Takes World Series with 1-0 Win
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Behind a strong performance from Fall World Series MVP John Lawroski, the Green Team clinched its second straight World Series title with a 1-0 win over the Orange Team Saturday.
An RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning from senior Chantz Mack, who finished the day 2-for-3, proved to be the difference-maker in the fourth and final game of the series. Lawroski, who also tallied two hits, reached base three times Saturday.
Redshirt freshman Ryan Otero earned the win, pitching five strong innings while striking out three. He scattered three hits over the course of the morning, keeping the Orange Team offense at bay. Senior Eric Nedeljkovic pitched a clean seventh inning to record the save.
Sophomore catcher Garrett Kennedy paced the Orange offense with two hits on the day.
