ACC-Leading Volleyball Moves to No. 23

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Currently tied atop theAtlantic Coast Conference standings, the University of Miami volleyball team improvedto No. 23 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Coaches Poll releasedMonday. The Canes had been at No. 24 the previous two weeks.

UM(20-3, 12-1 ACC) has won its last 10 matches, including home sweeps overVirginia Tech and Virginia over the weekend. The Hurricanes are the only team to have defeated all 11 ACC opponents.

Thehighest AVCA Coaches Poll ranking in school history is No. 20, reached on Sept.20 and Sept. 26 of 2011.

Inthe NCAA RPI, Miami also moved up to No. 16 after being No. 17 last week.

TheCanes will travel to the state of North Carolina the next two weekends,starting with a Friday match at UNC at 7 p.m. The contest can be viewed live onESPN3.

No.11 Florida State, a team Miami defeated earlier this season, is the only otherACC team mentioned in the AVCA Coaches Poll, with the Tar Heels receiving votes.
