Strong Showing for XC at UCF
ORLANDO – The Universityof Miami cross country teams each ran well on Friday at the Black & Gold Invitationalat the University of Central Florida. The men recorded a season-bestsecond-place finish, while the women placed in sixth to tie their season-bestmark.
JuniorSean Pezzulo continued his strong campaign with an overall time of 26:01 toplace second in the field. Following Pezzulo were sophomore Jacee Jarnagin (seventh,26:34), junior Luke Fontaine (ninth, 26:41), freshman Bert Irigoyen (26:56),freshman Kevin Marsh (27:10) and sophomore A.J. Ricketts (27:25).
Continuingher consistent season, junior Lindsi Arrington led the way on the women’s side,finishing second with a time of 21:32. Junior Alaine Tate had a strong finishfor the Hurricanes as well with a time of 23:03. Following Arrington and Tate werejunior Brooke Dovell (24:16), junior Allison Ludwick (25:56), sophomore JuliaKoch (25:12), senior Jennifer Estime (25:36) and freshman Kelly Williamson(25:40).
Withthe regular season now complete, Miami will now focus its attention onpreparing for the ACC Championships. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct.27 in Blacksburg, Va.
