Miami Ousted by No. 12 Louisville, 3-1

LOUISVILLE,Ky. – The University of Miami volleyball team droppedits final non-conference regular season match of the year on Saturday at No. 12Louisville, 3-1. Freshman Kelsie Groot paced the Canes with 15 kills, whilejunior Taylor Hollins recorded her ninth double-double in 10 matches (13 kills,18 digs).

For their efforts over the weekend, sophomores EmaniSims (45 kills, 15 total blocks) and Alexis Mourning (40 kills, 18 totalblocks) were named all-tournament. UM previously defeated UNLV and MiddleTennessee in the Louisville Tournament.

In front of 2,483 the KFC Yum! Center, the Canes(9-2) fell to the Cardinals (11-1) by scores of 26-24, 25-19, 19-25, 25-17. Itwas the second true road match of the season.

Groot collected a double-double with 15 kills and 13digs on the night to continue her consistent play since entering the startinglineup. Senior setter Nrithya Sundararaman orchestrated the offense once againwith 48 assists.

Lola Arslanbekova put down a match-high 21 kills forthe hosts.

Miami will return to Atlantic Coast Conference playfull-time starting next weekend with matches at Virginia and Virginia Tech.
