Hurricanes Swimming Unveils 2012-13 Schedule
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Coming off one of the mostsuccessful seasons in program history, head swimming coach Christie Shefchunasreleased the Miami Hurricanes’ 2012-13 schedule Tuesday.
The schedule, comprised of four dual meets, two tri-meetsand two championship-style invitationals, is expected to challenge aHurricanes’ team rising to the elite of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
“I think this schedule prepares us for the end of the year,when it matters most,” Shefchunas said. “The teams we’re swimming against thisseason are some of the best in the conference, so it’s going to help us getready by season’s end.”
The Hurricanes open up the season with the All-FloridaInvite (Sept. 28-30), a championship-style meet comprised of nearly everyswimming program across the Sunshine State. The ACC Championships (Feb. 20-23) and NCAA Championships(March 21-23) are the final two events on the team’s calendar.
“This has been one of the busiest summers that we’ve hadsince I’ve been here,” Shefchunas said. “I’m excited to see what our team canend up doing. We have a lot of work to do, but it’s going to be exciting to seewhat they can achieve.”
