CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A day after completing their fourth two-a-day fall practice, the Miami Hurricanes capped off their 14th day of #CanesCamp Friday.

Friday was the Canes’ final practice before Saturday’s second scrimmage of #CanesCamp. Following Saturday’s scrimmage, the Canes will have four more practices before breaking camp. With four two-a-day practices in the books, second-year head coach Al Golden praised his squad for their efforts.

“I thought they did a good job (Thursday),” Golden said. “Again, it’s not easy. We know it’s not easy. You have to develop a mental toughness and discipline to execute regardless of the circumstance.

“Our guys have done a good job with their health and staying hydrated,” Golden said.

In preparation for the 2012 season, the University of Miami will be hosting its annual BankUnited CanesFest on Sat., Aug. 18, from 4-7 p.m. at the BankUnited Center on the UM campus. Fans in attendance will have the chance to pick up the new 2012 Miami Football poster, receive autographs from Hurricane players and coaches, purchase season tickets, and much more.

The Hurricanes will hold their second #CanesCamp scrimmage Saturday (2-4 p.m.) at the Greentree Practice Field. Saturday’s scrimmage will be closed to both the media and the public. According to Coach Golden, the format for Saturday’s scrimmage will mirror more game-play situations and will also teach players the substitution patterns, sideline control and game tempo.

Prior to practice head coach Al Golden, DB Brandon McGee met with reporters and talked about the progress of #CanesCamp.
