GREENSBORO, N.C. – After wrapping up their regular season with a series win over Georgia Tech in Atlanta, the No. 21 Miami Hurricanes will continue on their road trip to Greensboro, N.C. for the 2012 Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament.

Under the pool-play format, each team will play one game against each of the other three opponents in its division Wednesday-Saturday (May 23-26). The two teams with the best records within their respective division brackets will advance to the title game on Sunday, May 27, with the winner earning the ACC’s automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Miami, who earned a No. 6 seed in the eight-team conference tournament, is joined in Pool B by second-seeded North Carolina, third-seeded North Carolina State, and seventh-seeded Wake Forest. Pool A consists of first-seeded Florida State, fourth-seeded Virginia, fifth-seeded Clemson and eighth-seeded Georgia Tech.

The Hurricanes will open their tournament with No. 15 North Carolina State on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Miami will then battle No. 6 North Carolina, who the Canes swept at Alex Rodriguez Park in April, on Thursday at 3 p.m. If the Hurricanes do not qualify for the Championship Game, they will end their stay in Greensboro with a 7 p.m. Friday night finale against Wake Forest.

Sunday’s championship game is set for 12 noon.
