Stride for Stride: On the Track with Taneisha Cordell

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–We sat down with freshman middle distance runner Taneisha Cordell to talk about her indoor season, her goals for the outdoor season, how she got started in track, and how she feels about her future.
What is the best thing about being a Miami Hurricane? Being surrounded by positive, hard-working people both academically and athletically.
What is your favorite meal? Medium-well steak, mashed potatoes, greens, baked mac & cheese and red velvet cake!!
What one superpower would you like to have? Ability to read minds.
Who has the biggest impact on your life? My strong and independent Mother.
What is your favorite holiday? Christmas.
To be a Hurricane means? Being the best you can be on and off the field/track.
What is one thing on your bucket list? Sky diving
Why the University of Miami? It is a great place to be with numerous opportunities. Miami track is a great program and the academics are some of the best in the country.
The best thing about UM meet days? The “track” atmosphere and the team bonding.
I can’t go a week without watching? I don’t really have a favorite TV show, but I like ‘Basketball Wives.’
Describe yourself in one word…Weird.
Celebrity crush…Kayne West.
Favorite team growing up…the OSU football team.
