CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 51 University of Miami men’s tennis team will continue its weekend road trip in College Park, Md., against the Maryland Terrapins on Sun., April 1. The match will begin at 12 p.m. at the Tennis Center at College Park.
Miami (8-7, 1-5) looks to earn its second ACC win a week after defeating Wake Forest. The Hurricanes had a tough loss this past Friday against Boston College.
In that match, Wilfredo Gonzalez and Diego Soto earned the Canes two points while making quick work of their opponents. Gonzalez defeated BC’s Billy Grokenberger 6-1 and 6-4. Soto earned the two-set victory over Jonathan Raude 6-1 and 6-4.
Maryland (4-12, 1-5) hosts the Hurricanes after losing their last four matches. Most recently the Terrapins have lost to ACC opponents No. 28 Florida State, No. 62 Georgia Tech and No. 64 Clemson.
The Terps are led by the No. 24 ranked doubles pair of Maros Horny and John Collins. The pair enters the match with an 11-5 record in dual matches during the spring season.
Following Sunday’s match, the Hurricanes will return home to host No. 24 North Carolina on Fri., April 6 at 2 p.m. and No. 6 Duke on Sun., April 8 at 12 p.m.
