Hurricanes in Fourth After Second Day of All Florida Invite

Gainesville, Fla. – University of Miami sophomore male diver Sam Dorman won the 1-meter springboard Saturday evening as the Hurricanes swimming and diving team finished up the second day of action at the All Florida Invite. The event is being host by the University of Florida inside the Stephen C. O’Connell Natatorium.
Dorman, a native of Tempe, Ariz., registered a judges’ score of 369.60 to win the 1-meter event. For Dorman, the win was his second in as many days after taking Friday’s 3-meter gold.
In the women’s 3-meter springboard, Thea Vock claimed her second podium finish of the weekend with a third place showing and a score of 298.20. Lindsay Lester was fourth (297.35) and Kara McCormack was seventh (250.90) to conclude the Miami divers.
Over in the swimming lanes, Hurricanes freshman Lucy Worrall picked up a seventh place finish in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 57.06. She would come back later for a fifth place finish in the B final of the 200-yard freestyle with a finishing mark of 1:56.98.
Junior Sofia Johansson claimed a fourth place finish for the Canes in the 100-yard breaststroke as she posted a time of 1:04.26. Senior Kelsi Hall was second in the B final for the event, touching the wall in a time of 1:06.44. Classmate Dana Hatic was just behind her as she finished in 1:07.20.
Hannah Kling was the top performer for the Canes in the 100-yard backstroke as she managed a first place finish in the B final of the race. She would finish with a time of 58.14. Senior Roxanne Meyer took a third place finish in the B final, as she finished in a performance time of 59.31.
The Hurricanes sit in fourth place in the standings after the second day of action with a score of 358. Florida continues to lead the field with a score of 748, followed by Florida State (643) and Florida Gulf Coast (425).
Miami concludes the All Florida Invite on Sunday.
