CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Due to snow in the Boston area, Friday’s Atlantic Coast Conference baseball series-opener between the University of Miami and Boston College has been cancelled. The three-game series times/dates have been adjusted to accommodate travel for the `Canes, as well as fitting in all three games for both teams in the league standings.

On April Fool’s Day, it was the weather getting the better of both Miami and Boston College prior to the series-opener at Eddie Pellagrini Diamond at Commander Shea Field in Chestnut Hill, Mass. For the Eagles, Friday’s game was to serve as their official home-opener, after playing their first 23 contests away from their home diamond.

With snow falling heavily Friday evening – beginning during Miami’s practice around 4:30 p.m. – and continuing into Saturday morning, the head coaches from both teams agreed to cancel Friday’s contest due to the conditions of the playing surface and the safety of the players, with temperatures dipping into the low 30s and snow flurries expected to continue throughout the day in and around the Boston area.

The `Canes and Eagles will now play a single game on Saturday, April 2, at 3 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. The second game will start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game – weather permitting for all three contests.

All three games will be carried live on WVUM 90.5 – the student voice for the University of Miami Hurricanes, and can be accessed online anywhere in the world at WVUM.org.

Live stats for the game will be provided through Game Tracker at HurricaneSports.com. Fans can also join the live chat, provided by Cover It Live, by visiting HurricaneSports.com as well.
