Don’t Bet On It: March Madness Edition

The Compliance Office would like to remind coaches, staff, and student-athletes  that the NCAA prohibits student-athletes, coaches, and all athletic department staff members from wagering on college or professional athletic events.    
 
Impermissible sports wagering:
•         Entering a pool at work or at any other location;
•         Entering a pool or drawing based upon the Super Bowl at a watch party;
•         Placing a bet on the internet on a college or professional sports event;
•         Entering online pools;
•         Placing a $5 bet with your co-workers, family members, or friends;
•         Participating in fantasy leagues that require an entry fee or offer any type of winnings (e.g., cash, gift certificates, merchandise, discounts, etc.);
•         Purposely affecting the outcome of a game or contest in which you are involved; and
•         Providing information about your team, teammates, or other student-athletes to anyone who places bets on college or professional sports.
