CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Head men’s tennis coach Mario Rincon has announced the signing of Omar Aly (Edmond, Oklahoma) to a National Letter of Intent to play men’s tennis for the University of Miami.

Rated a five-star recruit by TennisRecruiting.net, he is ranked second among prep players in his home state of Oklahoma and No. 49 among all U.S. players in the Class of 2010.

“We are very excited that Omar is coming to the University of Miami,” said Rincon. “He is a gifted player and student, and will certainly be an integral part of our program.”

Aly, who trains at Rick Macci’s Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, joins Gabriel Flores (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) in Miami’s 2010 signing class – ranked seventh in the nation and second best in the ACC.

A 5-foot-9 right-hander, Aly has posted a 23-14 record this season.
