Morgan Stroman Earns All-ACC Academic Team Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Morgan Stroman of the University of Miami women’s basketball team was among 16 student-athletes named to the All-ACC Academic Women’s Basketball Team, announced Friday by ACC Commissioner John D. Swofford.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and have maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during her academic career.

Stroman, a 6-1 freshman from Hopkins, S.C., started 15 games for Miami this season, averaging 7.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 21.7 minutes played per contest. She earned ACC Rookie of the Week Honors on Jan. 10 and was third on the team with three double-doubles on the season.

Prior to her collegiate career, Stroman was a three-time Gatorade Player of the Year in South Carolina – guiding her high school team to four consecutive state titles. She was also a 2009 McDonald’s All-American.

Stroman is the first women’s basketball player to earn the conference honor since Amy Audibert in 2007. The forward is a Sports Administration major and carries a 3.006 GPA.
