Women's Golf Set to Host Hurricane Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s golf team will host its first tournament of the spring season with the Hurricane Invitational from Sun., Feb. 14, through Tues., Feb. 16, at Don Shula’s Golf Resort in Miami Lakes.

A total of 18 teams including 11 teams ranked in the Golfweek Top 100 are slated to compete as UCF, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, Eastern Michigan, East Tennessee State, Georgia State, Illinois State, James Madison, Kentucky, Memphis, Mercer, NC State, Oklahoma City, San Diego State, USF, Southern Miss, Texas State join Miami in the three-day tournament.

Competition will begin on Sunday with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., followed by a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start on Monday and an 8 a.m. start on Tuesday.

The Hurricanes are led by sophomore Jennifer Hirano, who put together a team-best 74.92 stroke average and three top 15 finishes over five tournaments in the fall. Junior Maria Ronderos had a 75.77 stroke average over the fall.
