UM Offers Opportunity to Help Haiti Earthquake Victims

CORAL GABLES – As part of a campus-wide effort to aid the people of Haiti, the University of Miami Department of Athletics will be collecting monetary donations at the women’s basketball game versus Duke tonight and the men’s game against Boston College on Tuesday, January 19. Tipoff for this evening’s game is 7 p.m. while the Boston College game on January 19 is set for 9 p.m. Both games are being held in the BankUnited Center on campus.

Monies collected will be in support of the UM/United Way “Operation Helping Hands” which supports the UM Global Institute and the work of its doctors, nurses and students who are working directly with the victims of the earthquake.
