Julia Cohen named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Julia Cohen of the women’s tennis team is this week’s Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the week for the period ending May 10. Cohen, currently ranked No. 3 in this week’s Campbell’s/ITA singles poll, collected back-to-back victories over the weekend as part of the NCAA Women’s Tennis Championships [Coral Gables Regional] at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. In helping UM to their fifth Round of 16 appearance in the last six years, she downed Army’s Anne Houghton (6-0, 6-0) in straight sets at the top flight singles position in the opening round. Cohen then advanced past No. 79 Liset Brito of FIU in a straight-set victory the following day (6-0, 6-4). Cohen improved to 29-5 on the season, and a 23-3 record in the spring. Miami will now head to the NCAA Women’s Tennis Championships Round of 16 in College Station, Texas. |
