Hurricanes' Diego Rosado Sets Personal Best Mark in Long Jump

CORAL GABLES – The University of Miami track and field teams opened their road schedule in the outdoor season at the UCF Invitational in Orlando at the UCF Track and Field Complex.
Just a week after setting his career-best mark in the high jump, sophomore Diego Rosado was at it again as his showing in the long jump on Friday set another personal record. With a leap of 6.65m (21-10.00), the Albuquerque, N.M. native placed second in the event.
O the women’s side, freshman Brittni Finch led a quartet of Miami jumpers with a mark of 5.73m in the long jump. Also competing in the event with Finch, was junior Christina Madry and freshmen Britney Clarke and Rachel Dupree.
Coming in second in the men’s javelin was senior Chris Tringali who hit a mark of 44.45m (145-10.00), trailing only FIU’s Ryan Heberling.
In the evening’s final event, sophomore Katherine Woodard completed the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:36.30.
The Hurricanes will be among 15 women’s and 14 men’s teams in attendance tomorrow. Events will begin Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. with the remaining field events. The day’s action will close at 6:05 p.m. with the men’s 4×400 relay.
