Hurricanes Top 3 Performers of the Week

Mikese Morse, junior, Track & Field

At the Tom Jones Memorial in Gainesville last Saturday, Morse, a recent transfer from USF, placed first in long jump (7.54 m) for his first individual victory at Miami. He also placed second in the triple jump (15.34 m), falling just short of the top finisher.

Ignacio Taboada, freshman, Tennis

The only freshman on this years’ team, Taboada has emerged as a leader for Miami. He won in both his singles and doubles match ups against Rice last Sunday. After starting the season 5-4 in singles, Taboada has won 8 of his last 9 matches to bring his record to 13-5 going into the ITA Kick Off this weekend.

Annika Saarnak, sophomore, Swimming

At Miami’s tri-meet in Maryland last Saturday, Saarnak collected a pair second place finishes in the 100-yard freestyle (51.44) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.09). Her 200-yard freestyle result was the second best time for Miami in that event this year.
