Nation's Top-Ranked Duo Ready for All-American Championships

Tulsa, Okla. – The nation’s top-ranked duo of Daniel Vallverdu and Carl Sundberg of the University of Miami will make their fall debut in the main draw of the D’Novo/ITA Men’s All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., on Thursday.
The tandem opens its fall season versus Oklahoma State’s Nathan Byrnes and Oleksandr Nedovyesov at 7:30 p.m. The top 32 doubles teams from around the nation will be featured in the tournament’s main draw.
Vallverdu, ranked third in the nation in singles play, will also compete in the main draw singles competition. The field is comprised of the country’s top 64 singles players, of which 16 earned the right to compete by advancing through the previous rounds. Vallverdu, who qualified for the main draw because of his high ranking, will face Fresno State’s Rudolph Siwy at 9 a.m.
With an opportunity to advance to Thursday’s main draw on the line, Miami’s David Rosenfeld and David Simon fell in their third round qualifying match on Wednesday. After winning two tough matches on Tuesday, the tandem fell to Texas’ Dimitar Kutrovsky and Josh Zavala, 8-2.
