Harris to Compete at U.S. Olympic Trials
CORAL GABLES – The University of Miami’s Tim Harris is set to run the 800-meters at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Eugene, Ore. After being held in Sacramento, Calif. in 2000 and 2004 the trials will be held at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field for the first time since 1980.
Due to a hamstring injury, Harris was unable to reach his goal of winning the NCAA National Championship in Des Moines, Iowa, but is ready to take on the field in Oregon, beginning Friday at 8:20 PST.
The four-time All-American, will be among 30 competitors in the 800-meter run, and will be in one of the three quarterfinal heats. The top four from each heat and the next four fastest times will move on to the semifinal round on Saturday.
