Women Split Squads Wrap-Up Weekend

CORAL GABLES The <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>University of Miami eighth-ranked women’s track team split their squad this weekend. with the throwers traveling to DrakeUniversity and a select number of student-athletes heading to Philadelphia’s Franklin Field for the Penn Relays.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

 

Thursday evening the 4×400 relay team qualified for Saturday’s College Women’s Championship, where the team of ACC Outdoor Performer of the Year Kristy Whyte, Ena Leufroy, Takecia and Tameka Jameson, finished seventh overall with a time of 3:37.61.

 

In Des Moines, Iowa senior Khadija Talley and freshman Miranda Wilson both took part in Friday’s discus.  Talley hit a mark of 43.40m with Wilson right behind her at 43.33m.  Saturday Talley registered a mark of 14.28m in the shot put.

 

The No.8 Hurricanes will take two weeks off before they travel to Orlando for a dual meet against UCF on Saturday, May 10th.
