A week ago, in his first attempt at the 800-meters at the Virginia Tech Elite, Harris ran for an NCAA provisional mark of 1:50.34.   Today, the three-time All-American participated in the Olympic Development 800-m and improved that provisional mark with a run of 1:48.59.  That time was good for third in the event but was the second collegiate student-athlete, finishing behind Texas’ Jacob Hernandez.

Harris’ improved provisional mark now stands as the third fastest time in the NCAA so far this indoor season.  Two weeks stand between Harris and his defense of the 800m ACC Indoor Title.

The `Canes return for the second and final day of the Tyson Invite at the Randal Tyson Track Center, tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m.
