JENKINS NAMED MUSCLE MILK STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Coral Gables, Fla. (www. hurricanesports.com) – – Senior wide receiver Darnell Jenkins has been named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the period October 1-7.

Against North Carolina October 6, the Miami native caught three passes for 110 yards. Included in those catches was a 97-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Wright. The 97-yarder was the second longest touchdown pass in the history of Hurricanes football exceeded only by a 99-yard pass play from Gino Torretta to Horace Copeland against Arkansas in 1991.

Jenkins also returned a punt 68 yards in the fourth quarter, the longest punt return by a Hurricane since the 2004 season
