The Seminoles proved they were there for a fight, as they rallied back to claim the next three singles points at the Nos. 2, 4, and 5 spots, and captured the lead with the score at 3-2.

No. 50-ranked senior Audrey Banada took on Florida State’s Ania Rynarzewska at the No. 3 spot. The North Miami Beach, Fla. native held her opponent to just two games in the first set with the score at 6-2, The next set saw a great deal of competition between both players, as it came down to a close 7-5 finish with Banada claiming the victory.

With the match tied at three apiece, it came down to the No. 6 slot with junior Gina Sabatino and FSU’s Tapiwa Marobela battleting it out for the win. Sabatino came out ahead with a 6-3 win in the first set. Marobela then rallied back to post six games of her own, as Sabatino was only able to register three with the score at 6-3. But it was the Hurricanes who managed to hang on as Sabatino clinched the match to send Miami on to the next round.
