CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The third and final day of the 2007 Hurricane Invitational saw the University of Miami men’s and women’s team combine for six NCAA regional qualifying marks and a total of 14 top-three finishes Saturday at Cobb Stadium.

Highlighting the men’s action were junior Casey McGinn and senior Roland DaSilva who both cleared marks of 4.90 meters (16-00.75 feet) in the pole vault which tied for the second-highest jump of the day.

In the men’s 110-meter hurdles freshman Les Bradley ran a personal-best 14.45 to finish third while junior Richard Bernard (1:53.30) and sophomore Patrick O’Donnell (1:53.30) placed fifth and sixth in the 800-meters, respectively.

On the women’s side, sophomore Viktoria Andonova tied her own UM outdoor record with a first-place finish in the high jump with an NCAA regional mark of 1.80 meters (5-10.75 feet).

In the women’s 200-meters, sophomore Krista Simkins finished first with a time of 23.59 while freshman teammate Ashley Dukes crossed third with a time of 23.99.

Sophomore Ena Leufroy took first place in the 800-meters with a time of 2:12.64 while senior Amy Seward won the long jump with a mark of 5.95 meters (19-06.25 feet). Seward placed second in the triple jump with an NCAA regional mark of 12.42 meters (40-09.00 feet).

Junior Khadija Talley claimed two first-place marks on the day, winning the discuss throw with an NCAA regional mark of 49.50 meters (162-05 feet) and taking the hammer throw with a throw of 52.30 meters (171-07). Talley also placed second in the shot put with an NCAA regional mark of 15.20 meters (49-10.50 feet) while junior Misti Barber finished fifth with an NCAA regional mark of 14.84 meters (48-08.25 feet).

Coming in just behind an independent team that included former Hurricane All-American standouts Lauryn Williams, Dominique Darden and Wyllesheia Myrick, UM’s 4×100 meter relay placed first among all collegiate competitors and second overall with an NCAA regional time of 45.19.

Junior Kaitlin Nazario finished second in the javelin throw with a toss of 43.01 meters (141-01 feet).
