Day Two of 2007 Hurricane Invitational Complete

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The conclusion of the women’s heptathlon and men’s decathlon saw the University of Miami track and field teams place two athletes among the top eight, including a third-place finish by senior Debbie Estime in the heptathlon and an eighth-place finish by junior Andrew Parsons in the decathlon, Friday at the 2007 Hurricane Invitational.
Estime placed no lower than fifth in each of the seven events – four of which were held on Thursday – and tallied five top-three finishes enroute to earning a total of 4,455 points.
Parsons, who finished tied for second in the pole vault Friday with a mark of 4.21 meters (13-09.75 feet) and second in the long jump Thursday with a mark of 6.53 meters (21-05.25 feet), concluded the two-day event in eighth place with 6,102 points.
Competition at the third day of the Hurricane Invitational will begin Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
