March 2, 2007
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Senior Brenda Faluade of the University of Miami women’s track team has been named the 2007 ACC Indoor Field Most Valuable Performer as voted upon by 12 league head coaches.
Faluade earned Field Most Valuable Performer after two impressive performances in the long jump and the triple jump at last weekend’s ACC Indoor Championships. Placing first in the triple jump, Faluade’s best leap was 43-11.25 feet, which automatically qualified her for the NCAA Championship. Taking second place in the long jump with a leap of 20-03.50, the senior from Katy, Texas provisionally qualified in that event as well.
Faluade has the best mark in the ACC in the triple jump and the second-best mark in the long jump on the season.
