Miami Finishes Second Overall at Clemson Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. – The University of Miami women’s track and field team tallied four first-place finishes Saturday to finish second in the overall point standings on the final day of competition at the Clemson Invitational.
Highlighting Saturday’s performances was sophomore Ena Leufroy who took first in the 800-meters with a time of 2:14:76 and anchored the UM 4×400 team, also consisting of seniors Danielle Bailey and Ginou Etienne and sophomore Krista Simkins, which placed first with a time of 3:45:03.
In the 60-meters freshman Ashley Dukes won with with a time of 7:54 before placing third in the 200-meters with a time of 25:00. Simkins followed Dukes with a time of 25:09 to place fourth in the 200-meters.
Sophomore Viktoria Andonova claimed first in the high jump with an NCAA qualifying mark of 5-feet, 10-inches.
With a total of five first-place finishes during the two-day event, Miami placed second in the overall point standings with a total of 93 points. North Carolina won overall title with 124 points.
