Scheiner Leads Men's Cross Country

Charlottesville, Va. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami senior Jon Scheiner (Katy, Texas) placed 53rd to lead the men’s cross country team at the ACC Cross Country Championships in Charlottesville, Va.

Scheiner was Miami’s top finisher completing the 8K course in a time of 26:15.5. Senior Zach Castiglione (Brighton, Mich.) finished 71st in a time of 26:44.0 while sophomore Andrew Chuplis (Winter Park, Fla.) placed 76th (26:48.5).

Overall the Hurricanes placed 12th with 348 points. NC State won the team title with 31 points. Florida State was second (79 pts) while host Virginia finished third (87 pts).

Miami returns to action on November 11 at the NCAA South Region Championships in Knoxville, Tenn.
