Hurricanes 12th In South Region

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – After a strong showing at the Auburn Invitational last weekend the University of Miami men’s cross country team moved up to 12th in this week’s United States Track and Field, Cross Country Coaches Association South Region rankings.
Miami placed sixth out of 21 teams at the Auburn Invitational finishing ahead of SEC schools LSU, Mississippi and host Auburn, as well as cross-town rival Florida International.
Senior Jon Scheiner (Katy, Texas) led the Hurricanes finishing 23rd overall with a time of 24:57.77 over eight kilometers. His time was the third fastest in University of Miami history over 8K. Scheiner has been the Hurricanes’ top finisher in two of the first three races this season.
Miami returns to action this Saturday, October 7 at the Disney Cross Country Invitational in Orlando, Fla.
