Three Players Set to Participate in the All American Championship

Coral Gables, Fla. – Three University of Miami Women’s tennis players will participate in the prequalifying round of the 2006 Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships September 30-October 8. Romy Farah (20), Audrey Banada (71), and Laura Vallverdu along with some of the nation’s top collegiate women’s tennis players will take part in the tournament, held at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, California.
The Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships feature the top players in NCAA Division I tennis. As one of the three national collegiate tennis championships this season, the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships is the first Intercollegiate Tennis Association national singles and doubles championships of the 2006-07 season.
“We are very excited to be participating in one of the top college tennis tournaments in the country”, commented head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews. “It is a great time for the girls to go out and participate on a premiere court.”
Farah and Vallverdu will begin play in the prequalifying singles. Banada and Farah will participate in the prequalifying doubles.
Pre-qualifying play will begin on September 30 and the qualifying draw begins on October 3. The main draw of the Riviera All-American Championship will begin October 5 to the 8th. October 7-8 matches will broadcast live on RadioTennis.com.
