Hurricanes 13th Heading Into Final Round Of The Cougar Classic

Hanahan, S.C. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s golf team shot rounds of 306 and 308 on Monday and is in 13th place heading into the final round of the 2006 Cougar Classic in Hanahan, S.C.
Leading the way for the Hurricanes was junior Jessica Steward (Mystic, Conn.) who recorded scores of 76 and 74, and is tied for 35th overall. Senior Josie Shinn (Pinehurst, N.C.) is also in the top-50 heading into the final round after posting scores of 74 and 79. She ended the day in a tie for 46th.
North Carolina and LSU are tied for the team lead with scores of 579 while Florida State’s Whitney Brummett leads the individual competition after posting a two round total of 140 (70-70).
Final round action will take place Tuesday morning.
